Will Donald Trump make an appearance at the 20th-anniversary show of WWE SmackDown on Fox Sports 1?

WWE SmackDown is moving to Fox Sports on October 4, 2019, after a lucrative contract was signed between WWE and Fox, and all necessary steps have been taken by the company and the broadcasting network to produce a blockbuster debut show on Fox Sports 1.

Incidentally, the debut show will also be the 20th-anniversary show of the Blue Brand. Since this is a humongous business venture, WWE has contacted several of its past connections including former competitors and WWE Hall of Famers to grace the 20th-anniversary show of WWE SmackDown with their presence, with the aim of boosting the ratings of the show as it makes its debut on the Fox Sports network. Among the past connections appears the name of the current President of the United States of America Donald John Trump, who has have been approached by WWE for making an appearance on WWE SmackDown’s Fox debut episode.

WWE and Donald Trump had maintained a good business relationship for several years in the past. He was inducted into the celebrity wing of WWE’s Hall of Fame by the owner of WWE Vince McMahon in 2013. Trump was an active part of a major storyline in WWE in 2007 during the WrestleMania season. At WrestleMania 23, a match took place between Bobby Lashley and the late Umaga who represented Donald Trump and Vince McMahon respectively in a ‘Hair vs Hair’ match with ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin as the Special Guest Referee. This match was billed as the “Battle of the Billionaires.” Bobby Lashley defeated Umaga in the match and Vince McMahon was consequently shaven bald by Trump and Lashley (but in the end, The Texas Rattlesnake laid Trump down with the Stone Cold Stunner). According to Forbes, WWE was the Trump Foundation’s biggest donor in 2007. Although in recent years, WWE has not endorsed Trump in any way after strict orders from Vince McMahon, it is being speculated that WWE and Fox have both decided to invite Donald Trump on the 20th-anniversary show of WWE SmackDown on Fox Sports 1.

Several WWE Superstars from the past and the present are all set to appear on the Fox debut show of WWE SmackDown on October 4, and Fox has advertised top names like Brock Lesnar, Rey Mysterio, The Rock, ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin and John Cena in their promotional videos hyping the show. Brock Lesnar is being advertised to be a member of the Friday Night SmackDown roster and this is going to be a huge addition to the Blue Brand.

If the President of the US makes an appearance on the show, it is going to bring in a huge profit for both WWE and Fox. Looking at all the measures taken by WWE to elevate Friday Night SmackDown’s debut on Fox, some WWE news sources have stated the possibility of President Donald Trump making an appearance on the show, but these are still rumors and the chances of that happening are almost none.

Several WWE news sources have totally dismissed them as false because no official statement has been received from either WWE or Donald Trump about such an invitation. According to Forbes, a WWE news report from 2016 stated that Vince McMahon laid down an edict that no one working for the company is to talk to any media outlet about Trump. This command has been followed very cautiously by WWE since then and the company has not acknowledged Trump in any way since then. But with the move of WWE SmackDown to Fox approaching, it was speculated that perhaps WWE would re-establish their relationship with Trump but it still seems to be a far-fetched idea.
