Blackstar Films? Wake me up- Gloria Sarfo reacts to rebrand of the Ghana movie industry
After years of being known as the “Ghanaian Film Industry,” with other tags like, Ghallywood and Kumawood, the name of the movie industry in Ghana has been changed to “Blackstar Films.”
This name change comes following the National Film Authority’s (NFA) agenda to making Ghana a content and co-production hub.
The new name “Blackstar Films” was outdoored on Wednesday, December, 8 at the Goldcoast Restaurant and Cocktail bar in Accra.
Reacting to the name change on Instagram, Gloria Sarfo, who could not believe the reason for the name change as well as the choice of name wrote;
“What is the name of the Ghana Film Industry again? someone please wake me up, I’m still dreaming.”
