MultiChoice Ghana, the leading video entertainment company in Ghana has launched a battery of self-service platforms to assist customer better manage their DStv and GOtv service during the festivities. Making the announcement, Managing Director of MultiChoice Ghana Cecil Sunkwa-Mills said “we anticipate an increase in traffic to our contact centres for reconnections, upgrades and resets amongst others. The introduction of these self-service platforms are designed to improve customer user experience and allow our customers to be able to share more quality time with the people they love the most.
With the WhatsApp self-service, DStv subscribers can now upgrade their subscriptions, fix error codes, make payments and even rent Box Office movies, all by themselves! The WhatsApp self-service guarantees minimal wait time and low hassle as it provides an easy-to-use, convenient way of communicating in a format that customers are already comfortable with. It enables DStv to quickly and directly respond to customers as well as offers a phenomenal entry point for jumping on to the messaging bandwagon for customer service.
“We place our customers at the heart of everything we do and what this means is anticipating how to make their experience at our touch points stress-free. To use the service, simply add +233 024 242 6050 as a contact, type “Hi”, and you can check your balance, fix errors, change package, and make payment. Email and telephone are still the most commonly used customer service tools. But messaging apps are the perfect solution to increase customer satisfaction and loyalty. It is no secret that the reach of WhatsApp is unmatched and unprecedented, with 1.5 billion users in 180 countries. By meeting customers where they spend considerable time, DStv’s WhatsApp self-service is creating convenience and 24 hours accessibility.
Coupled with the Whatsapp Self-Service deployment, MultiChoice earlier in the year introduction of the MyDStv and MyGOtv Apps. They were geared towards offering value-added service for customers. Both apps allow an easy and convenient way to manage ones DStv or GOtv account. Stephen Appiah to contest John Dumelo and Lydia Alhassan in MP race for Ayawaso West Wuogon
Former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah is set to enter the political fray by rubbing shoulders with notable personalities in the upcoming general elections.
The former Juventus midfielder is believed to be lacing his boots to face the likes of John Dumelo and the incumbent member of Parliament for the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency Lydia Alhassan.
While Dumelo and Alhassan represents the NDC and NPP respectively, Appiah is expected feature in the elections as an independent candidate.
This was revealed by the Spokesperson of the Ayew family Fiifi Tackie via X on Friday afternoon.
“Stephen Appiah to contest Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency as an independent Parliamentary candidate,” he wrote.
If Stephen Appiah affirms the reported news, he will be following in the footsteps of other renowned figures in Ghana football who have indulged in politics recently.
Earlier this year, all-time top scorer of the Black Stars Asamoah Gyan was appointed as the sub-committee chair of Youth and Sports in the campaign committee of Dr Bawumia, the flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party.
In acceptance of the appointment, Gyan emphasised the need to share hos ideas garnered through experience in the game.

Another figure in Ghana football who recently announced his intention to engage in partisan politics is Kwesi Nyantakyi, former Ghana Football Association (GFA).
The former football administrator showed up as one of the candidates to contest in the NPP primaries for the Ejisu constituency following the demise of incumbent John Kumah.
However, it didn’t pan out well for the former Wa All Stars owner as he lost disappointingly.
He garnered a paltry 35 votes after close to 1,081 delegates had cast their votes in the parliamentary primary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) held in the Ejisu Constituency on April 13.
