Radio and TV Personality, Vanessa Gyan has expressed her worry about Ghana Music Rights Organization, GHAMRO’s neglect of her late father, Kiki Gyan.

According to Ms Gyan, her late father, Kiki Gyan, who was a member of the popular Osibisa band has not been captured in GHAMRO’s database.

“GHAMRO has no info for my dad in their database but they do of the other band mates. Sooooooo, nobody thought to reach out to any of his family members? A whole Kiki Gyan. Well, 😏,” she tweeted, Wednesday.

Ms Gyan also revealed that her late father has not received any royalties even though the band’s music is still played all over Ghana. According to her, the other two bandmates of Ghanaian descent, are receiving royalties while her dad isn’t.

“So two members of the group have been receiving royalties and the rest are what? Chop liver? Okay,” she tweeted.

Vanessa Gyan expressed her distaste of the music industry’s neglect of the legacy of her late dad.

“The music industry is just rude and disrespectful. Your continued disregard of my father does not sit well with me,” she added.

Ms Gyan’s concerns arise following GHAMRO’s  commencement of payment of royalties to musicians in Ghana. Over the week, it was reported that Shatta Wale was the highest recipient of GHC 30,000 as royalties. Several other musicians are still waiting to receive their contributions.
