Ghanaian singer, King Promise landed on the bad side of Ghanaians when he failed to honour his contract and perform at the recently held “Wizkid Live” concert at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The “Selfish” hitmaker was among the list of performers scheduled to thrill fans before the main act of the night, Wizkid.

However, although some of the artistes on the bill including Darkovibes and Gyakie performed, King Promise and R2Bees followed in the footsteps of Wizkid and did not show up for their performances on the night.

Whereas the reason for Wizkid’s no-show at the concert are still sketchy, King Promise faced the wrath of Ghanaians after he too issued an apology on Twitter for his absence at the show.

King Promise’s apology did not sit well with his fans and followers, who felt he should have performed as the concert was held in his home and he owed it to his people.

His further actions, hanging out with Wizkid in his private jet and flying to Abidjan and later Benin with the Nigerian Superstar, further caused anger amongst social media users.

A lot of people have since called king Promise Wizkid’s “puppet” as he is bidding by his rules.

However, King Promise has in an interview on Hitz FM stated that he Wizkid is not his “boss” and he is isn’t at his beck and call.

King Promise describes his relationship with the Grammy-award winning artist as his friend and not the other way round.

“Wizkid is my friend, not my boss,” he stated

He also added that his allegiance is to Ghanaians.

“Secondly, I have my allegiance to Ghanaians,” he added.

King Promise also apologised to his fans for not showing at the concert and promised to make it up to them.

“I truly do apologize to my fans for what happened at Wizkid Live in Accra. I promise to make it up to you. Come to the #PromiseLand and have your mind blown,” he stated.
