Rap music in Ghana only talks about money – Kafui Dey laments
Kafui Dey believes Ghanaian rappers need to improve their lyrics.
The television host asserts that the bulk of rappers in Ghana mainly mention money or place emphasis on how one musician is wealthier than his colleagues.
He recently made this known via a tweet. Kafui Dey questioned whether rap music is solely about “money,” given that it is now customary for singers to boast about their fortune to the public.
“Listening to some Ghanaian rap on radio and all the songs are about making money, how much money they have, how they will make money by all means, how they have money more than other people etc.” “Every verse has ‘sika’ or ‘money’ Is that all there is to rap about?” his tweet reads.
