I’m Not Dead; Disregard the Rumors – Actor Tony Umez

Popular veteran Nollywood actor and movie producer, Tony Umez, has taken to his social media page to debunk rumors of his sudden death.

According to him, reports circulating are malicious and a deliberate attempt by some individuals to use his pictures and videos to gain traffic to their pages. Sharing a video on his Instagram to address the issue,  the renowned movie star stressed the need for people to verify their information.

Captioning the video, Tony stated, “I need to address this disturbing issue that has come to my attention. Some unscrupulous individuals have been using my pictures and videos maliciously, falsely reporting me as deceased in order to gain traffic to their pages.”

He continued “First and foremost, I want to assure you that I am very much alive and well. These false reports are nothing but baseless rumors spread by individuals with ill intentions. I will be taking legal action against these persons, as their actions not only infringe upon my rights but also cause unnecessary distress to my loved ones and fans,”

Tony, who doubles as a philanthropist and television personality further asserted that is disheartening to see how information can be misused by a few to spread false news for personal gain, adding that social media users must be vigilant and only trust information that only comes from him.

“I understand the power of social media and the impact it can have on spreading information. However, it is disheartening to see how it can be misused by a few to spread false news for personal gain. I urge you all to be vigilant and only trust information that comes directly from me or my official channels.”
