Well-known Ghanaian Youtuber and content creator, Bernard Kwadwo Amoafo, professionally known as Kwadwo Sheldon has voiced his deep disappointment in the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) asserting that engaging in politics has never benefited him personally.

It will be recalled that Sheldon was one of the influential voices on social media who supported the 4 More 4 Nana campaign but just 4 months after the 2020 general elections the content creator made known that he regretted campaigning for the NPP.

Known for his candid opinions and witty commentary, Sheldon, in a recent interview with Lynx Entertainment’s Kojo Manuel on The Mile 7 Podcast asserted that he is quite disappointed in the ruling party which he openly supported some years ago as it has failed to fulfill almost all the campaign promises it made to Ghanaians.

He made this statement when he was asked if he ever benefited from engaging in politics.

”I wouldn’t have been sitting here if I benefited from it. These are some of the things we’ve done in the past and have regretted. Like you openly declare your support for a party because you believed in their policies and when they come into power they disappoint to the core.

”And when you try to criticize them for their failure, people tell you to shut up because you contributed to this mess,” he said.

Kwadwo Sheldon further opined that political neutrality is a myth, emphasizing that everyone has a political party he or she is aligned to. He went on to emphatically state that he still supports the NPP but will criticize them anytime he feels there is something to be done.

The youtuber’s statement sheds light on the disillusionment felt by many towards the political establishment. His remarks resonate with a broader sentiment of disenchantment among the populace, who often feel disconnected from the political process and its outcomes.

As a prominent figure with a sizable following, Sheldon’s words carry weight and provoke reflection on the efficacy of political engagement. His stance underscores the need for transparency, accountability, and tangible results from those in positions of power.
