Award-winning Ghanaian Artiste, King Paluta, known in private life as Thomas Adjei Wireko has responded to rumors regarding his recent involvement in campaign activities with Vice President and Flagbearer of the governing New Patriotic Party, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

Speaking during a conversation on UTV’s United Showbiz, Paluta disclosed that his presence on the bus with Bawumia was purely coincidental and not driven by any political agenda.

He explained that he was approached by someone who was recording him and offering compliments, which led to an invitation to meet Vice President Bawumia. Out of respect for Bawumia’s position in the country, King Paluta accepted the invitation.

Questioning whether he should have declined the opportunity to meet Bawumia due to his political affiliation, the ‘Aseda’ hitmaker emphasized Bawumia’s stature and elder status in the country.

Regarding allegations of receiving a significant payment for his appearance, King Paluta defended himself by stating that he attended the event as part of his personal commitments. He made it clear that any compensation he received was reasonable and covered expenses like fuel and other logistical costs associated with attending the event.

Highlighting that his brand and services are not provided for free as an entertainer, the reigning TGMA New Artiste Of the Year urged Ghanaians not to associate him with any political party based on his participation in the campaign event.
