It is barely two weeks since the official launch of the ‘Ghana Meets Naija’ concert but it appears that Nigerians are gearing up to storm Ghana in style for the July 1showdown between top performers from Ghana and Nigeria. If the buzz on social media networks, Facebook and Twitter as well as Nigerian websites is anything to go by, then the Nigerians won’t let Ghanaians have it easy on the night.
Whiles tickets for the event are yet to even come out on sale in Ghana, rave heads in Nigerian are reported to be feverishly making preparations to grab tickets for the event. To most of them the event is a matter of pride and is now a “must attend” event on their rave calendar as they look to storm the Dome of the Accra International Conference centre to cheer on the likes of Wande Coal, J-Martins, 9ice and 2face in their bid to prove that they have the best performers between the two countries.
At the press launch for the event at the Royal Richester Hotel on Africa Union Day, J-Martins made reference to the raging rivalry between Ghana and Nigeria in football, and made a comparison between the show and the football rivalry by saying, “Ghana meets Naija, this one is more than the football rivalry and we must win.”
Detail on tickets and sales will be available on www.ticketdoug.com this week. This event is powered by Empire Entertainment and sponsored by RLG Communications, Smirnoff Vodka and Digital Innovation with support from BUZZGH, Hitz Fm, Joy Entertainment, ameyawdebrah.com, Soundcity TV, Hi Newspaper and ghanacelebrities.com.
