Nigerian music star, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has issued a heartfelt apology to his fans, explaining why his headline show in Lagos ended with a lot of controversies.

The African Giant, who had a mind-blowing 2022, including selling out iconic venues such as Madison Square Garden, State Farm Arena, and a slew of other venues around the world, headlined his first show for 2023 in Lagos, but things didn’t go as expected.

The event, which was scheduled to kick off by 6 p.m. Nigerian time on January 1, 2022, did not see the singer climb the stage as of 3 a.m. Nigerian time on January 2, 2022, which angered many fans who were waiting to get thrilled by the African Giant.

In an event update, the singer apologized to his fans on January 2nd, 2023, stating that, contrary to popular belief, he arrived early for the show with his band. Still, he couldn’t perform in time due to the organizer’s failure to put the proper sound technicalities in place.

Burna Boy also claimed that he was working to bring investors into the Nigerian music industry in order to address the recurring issue of poor concert planning and execution.
