The floor at one of Sydney’s most iconic music and comedy venues has shockingly collapsed during a packed concert.

The incident happened on Thursday night, as crowds packed into the Enmore venue for a Genesis Owusu gig.

Only two songs into the gig, the main dancefloor near the stage in the popular venue, which holds up to 2,500 people, became unstable and collapsed.

The Ghanaian-Australian performer stopped his show to urge fans to make way for security.

‘This is actually really dangerous,’ Mr Owusu told disappointed fans.
‘We’re gonna have to reschedule the show.’

Witnesses described the sunken area as approximately a metre deep and eight by six metres across and potentially dangerous.

The downstairs carpeted floor in the venue, which was built 109 years ago in 1912, appeared to have caved in and security moved in to keep the area safe.
