Agya Koo leaves with his car Kyeiwaa riding in backseatThe winners of the Founder’s Merit Awards for the 2010 Ghana Movie Awards have been presented with their prizes at a ceremony held at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra. Popular actor, Kofi Adu popularly known as Agya Koo, was presented with a brand new Zoyte SUV 4 wheel drive for his outstanding contributions as an actor and for his role in ‘Ama Ghana’, which won him the Ghana Movie Award for Best Actor (local language).

Actresses Jackie Appiah, Juliet Ibrahim, Yvonne Okoro and Roselyn Ngissah also won one brand new Zoyte SUV 4 wheel drive for their roles in ‘4play’. Apart from Jackie Appiah who was absent, the three actresses were present to receive their prize.  Clearing the question as to what they four ladies would do with that car, as has been lingering on in the media, has still not been answered. Unlike Agya Koo who was seen driving home in his new car, the car for the ladies was not taken home by either of the actresses.

The ceremony was also used to present statuettes to Rose Mensah alias  Kyeiwaa and Juliet Ibrahim who were not present at the main awards ceremony December. Rose Mensah won the Best Actress (local Language) nod.  She explained that she wasn’t at the December event due to ill health.
