Gospel fraternity divided; they campaigned for Piesie Esther and left out Joe Mettle- Bullgod

Published

Artist manager and entertainment pundit, Bullgod has claimed that the gospel music industry is divided, and exhibited bias towards Joe Mettle at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

According to Bullgod, the attention of the gospel gospel fraternity was directed at Piesie Esther who was in the running for the “Artist of the Year” award, neglecting Joe Mettle, who was also nominated in the same category.

In an interview on TV3 ‘New Day’, Bullgod argued that if there was genuine unity, Joe Mettle would have also been supported by Christians and the Gospel fraternity for the “Artiste of the Year” award.

“They practice whatever partiality he [Kwesi Ernest] is talking about. If they were united, Joe Mettle was in the Artiste of the Year category.  They did not push them as a collective, they only pushed that woman [referring to Piesie Esther],” he stated.

Bullgod added that if Joe Mettle was included in the campaign, he probably would have brought the ultimate award home since he’s got a great fan base and has done some good work in the year under review.

“Maybe if they had pushed Joe Mettle he could have won because he also has fans and has done some good work. You never know. So you push them as a collective,” Bullgod added.
