Having my wife as part of my management team has affected both my marriage and brand- Okyeame Kwame
Ghanaian rapper, Okyeame Kwame has stated that having his wife as part of his management team has affected him.
According to the “Wo so” hitmaker, having his beautiful wife, Annica, has affected him both on the business front and the marriage front.
Explaining why he thinks having his wife as part of management has affected his career during an appearance on Showtym with Andy Dosty on Adom TV, Okyeame Kwame stated;
“It has affected it. It affects both the marriage front and the business front. At a point when we had an office at Awudome, whenever I say something to her displeasure at a meeting at work, when we come home and I try to hold her, she frowns at it and says ‘so you know you were going to touch me and you were hard on me at work?’ and I go like madam don’t you know separation of powers? Didn’t you go to S.H.S?…and she goes ‘if you need me a home, be nice to me at work.”
Okyeame Kwame further explained that although working through the dynamics of work and marriage was sketchy, Annica did bring a lot of fresh ideas to building his career when she graduated with a Masters in Branding and Marketing.
“When I won artiste of the year at the Ghana Music Awards, my wife had graduated from KNUST with a masters in Branding and Marketing so she brought in fresh ideas. In fact, her masters thesis was “Finding alternative financial route for the Ghanaian musician’, he stated.
Okyeame Kwame however, added that although Annica’s fresh ideas at the time helped elevate his brand at the time, welcoming their two beautiful children later on affected Annica’s energy and contribution to his brand.
“I was the one with the blueprint but today, after she gave birth to our first and second children, she was all about her children, the energy and vibrancy she brought to my career was completely gone as compared to when she had no kids,” he added.
