How to make tomato sauce that isn’t sour is top most asked question in my community – Sweet Adjeley

One of Ghana’s most celebrated food vloggers watched and loved worldwide, Sweet Adjeley has disclosed the question most of her Ghanaian audience wants answers to.

The YouTuber with 772K subscribers and 76 million views on her 299 videos in a sit-down conversation with Ameyaw Debrah shared the most frequently asked question in her online community.

Responding to the question in the interview aired on AmeyawTV, the US-based vlogger said:

“For the ladies especially in Ghana, some of them struggle with tomato sauce. Ghanaians eat a lot of tomatoes because everything we cook has tomatoes in it. But at times the tomatoes can be sour so it becomes a challenge for some of our Ghanaian young ladies to be confident in themselves. I usually get, ‘I watched Sweet Adjeley and did everything she said but the stew is still sour’.”

In offering a solution/cooking hack to the problem, Sweet Adjeley said:

“I want them to know that it is not their fault and most times it’s the sourness of the fresh tomato and not that they did something wrong. You can fix that by adding a little bit of baking soda or kanwe into the tomato stew, just a little bit of it goes a long way.”
