I don’t want to be signed under a label, but I have plans of starting my own label- Sista Afia

Ghanaian singer Sista Afia has revealed that it has always been her dream to start her own record label.

According to the “Asuoden” hitmaker, she started her music journey with the ambition of starting her own record label.

She made this assertion while answering a question about opening to sign under a label in an interview with Ameyaw TV’s Zeinat.

Sista Afia noted that her ambition to start her own label has made her hesitant to join any music record label to advance her music career.

“Yes, but me per say I don’t want to be signed under a label because I started this journey thinking that I would sign people under my own record label, so I’ve been under my own record label ‘A’s Candy Record’ for almost five years now and I have this thing in my mind that when God blesses me I will be able to bless others,” she noted.

Sista Afia believes her ambition may take some time, however, she’s willing to wait and work towards it.

“It is just my passion to have my own record label and it doesn’t come easy, you know when you set your mind to something and this particular thing I am talking about is not an easy path, I mean it comes with a lot.

“But I would like to have people on board, you can’t do it all, distribution companies and something that will generate money and have a contract with whoever and help build up easier for me,” she added.
