I have no issues with King Promise despite not responding to his congratulatory message on X – Stonebwoy

Reggae/ dancehall musician, Stonebwoy has addressed recent speculations regarding his lack of response to a congratulatory post from his fellow artiste, Gregory Bortey Newman, otherwise known as King Promise on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.
It will be recalled that after losing the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) Artiste of the Year (AOTY) award to Stonebwoy, King Promise sent a congratulatory message to the ‘Therapy’ hitmaker. However, to the dismay of music lovers and fans of both musicians, Stonebwoy did not respond to the message, raising eyebrows.
In a clear and direct statement during an exclusive interview on Hitz FM with Andy Dosty, Stonebwoy emphasized that there is no underlying issue or bad blood between him and the ‘Terminator’ singer.
He went on to explain that his silence was not indicative of any personal discord but rather a result of the overwhelming volume of messages he received after the award ceremony.
“There is nothing attached to me not responding to King Promise’s congratulatory post on X. There’s no bad blood between me and King Promise. He’s a junior brother in the industry so I can’t fight with him. There are so many of such congratulatory messages that i haven’t responded to, so I can say his message fell in that basket” Stonebwoy stated.
The rumors of a potential rift began when King Promise posted a congratulatory message celebrating Stonebwoy’s latest achievement as TGMA Artiste Of The Year, which went unacknowledged publicly by the dancehall star. Fans quickly speculated about a possible fallout between the two artistes, both of whom have played significant roles in promoting Ghanaian music on the global stage.
Stonebwoy expressed his respect and admiration for King Promise, highlighting their mutual commitment to advancing the Ghanaian music industry. “King Promise is a talented artist and a brother in the industry. We share a common goal of elevating our music and culture, and there’s no room for unnecessary conflict.”
