Speaking in an exclusive interview with Roselyn Felli on Joy Prime’s Prime Morning Show, the crooner, born Martin King Arthur addressed the pressure from his fans, asserting his belief that the award will eventually come his way in due time.
He further expressed confidence in the timing of his success, emphasizing that there’s a moment destined for everyone in their career trajectory.
“I heard some of my fans talk about it but there is time for everybody. When the right time comes, it will happen,” he said.
Dismissing the notion that his previous nominations were indicative of missed opportunities due to timing, the ‘Sweetie Pie’ singer, underscored his primary goal of serving his audience. He highlighted his commitment to crafting songs that resonate with listeners across various emotions and life situations, citing his tracks ‘Effiakuma Love’ and ‘Effiakuma Broken Heart’ as examples of this versatility.
”“That is not the target. I just want to serve the people, I just want to give them songs that they can relate to. I just want to give them songs for every occasion, situation and condition,” he added.
While Kofi Kinaata faced defeat in the Artiste of the Year category at the 2020 Ghana Music Awards, losing to Kuami Eugene, he remains undeterred. This year, he secured nominations in several categories, including Best Reggae Song of the Year and Best Highlife Artiste of the Year, showcasing his enduring presence in the music scene.
Meanwhile, Kofi Kinaata continues to captivate audiences with his latest release, ‘Effiakuma Broken Heart,’ a poignant exploration of relationship disillusionment.
