Despite facing many challenges at her first attempt to host a concert in Tamale in the Northern Region, Ghanaian singer Sista Afia has stated that she has not given up and will try again in the near future.

The “Asuoden” hitmaker had successfully planned the ‘‘Queen Solomon’’ concert in Tamale, however, on the day of the concert, she revealed she was sabotaged on stage.

In a new interview with Ameyaw TV’s Zeinat Issahaku, Sista Afia stated that despite the sabotage, she’s ready to host another concert in Tamale.

“Why not, I like things like that, I like to push myself, even if it didn’t work the previous time, I’ll make sure it works this time and I like to learn from mistakes I have done in the past and people see this as ‘oh she’s done a show, it didn’t go well,  people think that’s it but people don’t know it’s actually helping me so I don’t mind doing it again,” she noted.

Sista Afia agrees that some mistakes were made during the planning of the concert and she’s ready to fix them and try again.

“I just feel like we will have to be more careful next time, more prepared next time, more aware of things that we need to be aware of before we go, not just Tamale, anywhere else across Ghana, I mean wherever we have to be, we have to make sure that this place we have to do this, we have to do that before we get there. I think maybe promotion wise we should have done more months instead of lesser months so, yeah maybe next time, I have learnt from it.”

Background

Sista Afia has disclosed that her ‘‘Queen Solomon’’ concert in Tamale at the Aliu Mahama sports stadium flopped because there wasn’t any artist from the Northern Region billed to perform.

In an interview on 3music, Sista Afia revealed her performance was sabotaged from the beginning, explaining that the lights kept going on and off while she was on stage performing to the audience.

“The whole show was sabotaged because I didn’t have Fancy or one other artiste on the bill. So, they kept removing the plugs. When I stepped on stage, after 2 seconds, they took the plug, and all the lights went back off. They kept doing it even before I went on stage.

“We did everything possible. I mean, we did the prom, and we met the Chiefs. We did everything you are supposed to do when it comes to Tamale. We contacted Fancy. I contacted both of them (Macassio and Fancy Gadam). Then he (Fancy) gave me an amount that I have to pay, and we bargained. And the minute I was about to pay, he wasn’t answering my text,” she revealed.
