Sammy Forson, host of Ignition and the Weekend City Show on Joy 99.7 FM, has concluded his tenure at the station, having joined The Multimedia Group in 2018.

Moving on to new ventures, Sammy expressed gratitude to listeners for their support and shared memories.

During his time at Joy FM, he became beloved for his experience, music taste, and humor, hosting various shows like Overdrive and filling in for Drive Time and Showbiz A-Z.

Sammy Forson’s radio journey began in 2001 as a computer systems engineer in Kumasi. His passion for music led him to revolutionize radio with computerized music systems, transforming the industry.

From Ghana Broadcasting Corporation to roles at Citi 97.3FM, YFM 107.9FM, and Live 91.9FM, Sammy’s versatility earned him acclaim. As Business Development Manager for Sarkodie/Duncwills Entertainment/Sarkcess Music (2010-2015), he spearheaded successful campaigns and contributed to Sarkodie’s awards.

Joining Multimedia Group in 2018 was pivotal. Hosting ‘Weekend City Show’ and ‘Ignition,’ Sammy became beloved for entertainment, comedy, and engaging discussions. His departure creates anticipation for his next endeavors, leaving a void in the station’s lineup.
