Fast rising afropop artist, Kelvyn Boy, has said that he is fortunate to be signed to Burniton Music Group, a record label owned by Stonebwoy.

Speaking to showbiz in an interview, the ‘toffee’ hit maker said: “Stonebwoy is a great person, he has a great personality and I am very lucky to be on his record label, Burniton Music Group.

“In this life of ours, you need to have someone you look up to, someone you learn from and for me it is Stonebwoy. I am blessed being on his label,”

Commenting on claims that he may not progress under his mentor Stonebwoy as they both do the same genre of music, Kelvyn Boy said :

“That is never true, anyone who listens to our songs carefully will know that we are different people and our style is different. I can equally say that our audience is also different, so there is no way such can happen.

“Let us look at this, I wouldn’t be here in an interview with you if Stone did not give me the chance to grace some of his stages or work with him.

“You are here because you heard of me, know me, know my music. I believe he saw something in me and needs to push it and that is what we are working on currently,” he said.

Talking about his music journey Kelvyn Boy stated it has not been easy but it has been worth it.

“I have had my challenging times but I am glad I am not where I used to be. There are lots of things that as an artiste you need to learn and one of them is humility.

“I thank my fans for the love so far, it has been great and I want them to know that there are greater things coming and they should watch out.”

Kelvyn Boy won the Unsung artiste of the year at the 2018 vodafone Ghana music awards.
