Kojo Antwi can’t be labelled as a Highlife Musician; he does more reggae songs – Gyedu-Blay Ambolley
Celebrated Ghanaian highlife musician/songwriter, Gyedu-Blay Ambolley, has opined that his colleague crooner, Julius Kojo Antwi, otherwise known as Kojo Ankwi, cannot be identified as a Highlife artiste.
According to him, the ‘Medofo pa’ himaker, cannot be labelled as a Highlife singer because most of his songs are reggae tunes.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Fiifi Pratt on Kingdom FM’s Afro Joint Show, the ‘Adwoa’ singer, who double as a producer and composer admited the fact that people over the years have loved songs made by the renowned artist (Kojo Antwi) but the genres of the kind of songs produced by him are tilted more towards Reggae than highlife.
In the words of the legend, “We can’t call Kojo Antwi a Highlife musician because you hear more of reggae than highlife but people love it.”
