In a world where social media has become an integral part of our lives, it is no surprise that the opinions and comments of strangers online can have a profound impact on our decisions.

Ghanaian singer and entrepreneur, Belinda Nana Ekuah Amoah, otherwise known as Mzbel, has recently revealed that the hurtful and painful comments made by people on social media made her desperate to have a second child.

According to her, the birth of her daughter will put an end to her desperation for children following the many  years of maltreatment for adopting other children.

The ’16 years’ hitmaker at the age of 43  defied societal expectations and embraced her personal choice, by giving birth to her baby girl, Ohemaa and celebrating her in a beautiful   traditional naming ceremony.

Speaking on UTV’S ‘United Showbiz’ on Saturday July 8, 2023,  the sensational crooner averred that, “I was excited hence my comment “me dier nie,” it brought back some painful memories I have experienced taking care of other people’s children.”

She added that, “People throw hash comments like Adepa isn’t my son that I adopted him. Even my son tells me at school people say he is adopted. Oftentimes I have a lot of children who live with me that I take care of, so the media created that adoption narrative printing it in the minds of people who now see my son as an adopted child too.”

Motivated by these experiences, Mzbel made known that she considered adoption as an alternative but ultimately decided to have a biological child. “All these comments and experiences pushed me to have my own. I spoke to Rachel Appoh to help me out with legal adoption but I later decided to have my own was a better decision. I was tired of all those comments and unfairness,” she hammered.
