Ghanaian Afrobeats sensation, Wendy Shay, known in private life as Wendy Asiamah Addo has addressed the rumors surrounding a song that was perceived as a ‘diss’ towards her manager and CEO of Ruff Town Records, Bullet.
Recently, there was a disagreement between Wendy Shay and Bullet regarding contract renewal and agreement, causing tension between the two.
During the period when Wendy Shay was not collaborating with Ruff Town Records, she released a track titled ‘Who Cares’ which coincided with the disagreement.
The award-winning singer dropped the song while the dispute with Bullet was ongoing.
In a social media post in June 2024, Bullet suggested that Wendy Shay’s ‘Who Cares’ song was aimed at him due to their disagreement. He made this statement while praising Sammy Flex for his management skills with Shatta Wale, highlighting the challenges faced by artist managers. Nonetheless, Wendy Shay has denied Bullet’s claim.
In an interview with DJ Slim on YouTube on June 26, she clarified that the song was inspired by their disagreement but was not specifically directed at Bullet.
“The situation motivated me to write the song, but it was not meant for Bullet personally. It’s not like I’m targeting Bullet with a stray bullet. It’s just that as a creative person, you draw inspiration from your experiences and emotions,” Wendy Shay explained.
She also mentioned that the issue with Bullet has been resolved, and she is now back to collaborating with Ruff Town Records. “Bullet and I had a disagreement, but with the intervention of some elders, the matter has been settled. I am now working with Bullet again. We have reconciled,” she confirmed
