For the first six years of their marriage, Adjetey Anang and his wife, Elom Anang struggled with childbirth.

In their search for a child, the two lovebirds entertained all the available options, including visiting fertility clinics.

However, Elom narrates in her husband’s memoir, what an uncomfortable experience it was visiting fertility clinics.

According to Elom, there were times they went for tests and nurses and doctors will be asking for selfies, ignoring the emotional turmoil they were going through.

“For most of the visits, I saw the difficulty with which Adjetey had to carry on. It wasn’t easy for him. My husband is largely a very private person; I’m more friendly and open. So being in the hospital and visiting the fertility clinics wasn’t too easy for him.

“There were incidents where we went for tests and the nurses and doctors would be asking for selfies and pictures with him when we were deep in the emotional roller-coaster of the reasons for these visits,” Elom narrated in Chapter 11 of the book.

“It wasn’t too comfortable an experience but we endured it. I found it a bit unsettling that people would overlook what we were going through and seek to satisfy their personal desires by taking pictures with Adjetey,” she added.

Elom and Adjetey finally welcomed their first child, a son, after years of prayers and fertility clinic visits

In the book, Elom acknowledges the role three men of God; Rev. Christopher Annor, Dr. Mensa Otabil and Prophet El Bernard played in keeping their hope and faith alive they struggled to bring forth a child.
