Oliver Barker-Vormawor claims they were enticed with monetary and appointments offers to stop demonstration

#FixTheCountry Convenor, Oliver Barker-Vormawor has revealed he was invited by the Minister for National Security, Albert Kan-Dapaah for a sit down to stop the “Occupy Julorbi House” demonstration from happening.
According to Barker-Vormawor, he was not in the country at the time, and the minister offered to pay for his flight tickets to get him down to the country for the meeting.
Speaking in an interview with TV3 on Day 2 of the protests, Barker-Vormawor stated that the purpose of said meeting was to “bribe” him and other convenors to stop the protests.
“This is something that I’ve spoken to before. A lot of people who are following me maybe aware of this and I’ve made this clear. Unknown to the government, we have recordings of the reach out. When I was in the UK, the National Security Minister called and invited me to the country for a sit down, the government offered to pay for my flight to meet here in Ghana. This was something that was never disclosed to the public, we met at a safe house and the dead was for us to stop this activity.

“This was way before the first fix the country demonstration. We were offered not only money but appointments that if we agreed to stop this, that we were going to be free to do whatever we want, but the most important thing is to bring citizens out into the street, and when we rejected that, categorically, Kan Dapaah, the National Security Minister said if we decide to continue with this cause of action, we will be arrested and dealt with, that it would be over his dead body that any demonstration will happen. The government has tried every means to try and avoid us mobilising young people,” he said in the interview.
