DSTv launch africa month in Ghana MultiChoice Ghana has announced the Africa Month theme on DStv and GOtv with a soiree at Big Brother Amplified housemate, Confidence Haugen’s Mama Ga Restaurant in Accra.  The event which was attended by the likes of  actors Lydia Forson, James Gardiner; producer Socrates Sarfo and a host of media personalities, revealed that all through the month of May, homegrown programming and African content will be highlighted and celebrated on DStv as the continent gets ready to celebrate Africa Day on 25th May. The channels are home to an array of popular African shows such as: Star Gist, Tinsel, 53 Extra, Jim Iyke: Unscripted, Mashariki Mix and     Omotola: The Real Me. Viewers can also look forward to season 8 of the hit reality show Big Brother Africa on 26 May and It will be screened for 91 days on DStv channels 197 and 198. ·            Africa’s unique offering is also being showcased on a number of other channels across DStv.        This can be seen on shows such as Reza’s African Kitchen on Food Network, Floyd on Africa on Travel Channel, Wild Africa on BBC Knowledge, Being Mandela on Fox,Roaring with Pride on Animal Planet, Into the unknown with Josh Bernstein on Discovery World, Africa’s Deadliest on National Geographic, African Journal and Straight Talk Africa on Vox Africa ·            Musical talents from the continent are also being celebrated this month. Hip-Hop, R&B and Afro beats can be seen and heard on a selection of African inspired music shows on Channel O,          Afro Music Pop, Trace Urban and MTV Base. Key shows to look out for areVolt, Original African Stories, O-Africa and Speakerboxx on Channel O. MTV Base will also screen an Africa Weekend Mix,     Official African Chart and MTV Africa All Stars. ·            News and views of the continent are not left behind, as some news networks on DStv have intriguing shows reviewing Africa’s culture, economy, politics and successes. Audiences are able to view these on shows such as: Focus on Africa on BBC World News, Africa this Week and Invest Africa on CNBC Africa, Inside Africa and African voices on CNN and Artscape on Aljazeera and ENCA Africa Edition on e.TV Africa. ·            May is also jam packed with non-stop sporting action on your “World of Champions”, SuperSport.
