Sarkodie is “ashamed” for not attending the late Nana Ampadu’s funeral

Ghanaian rapper, Sarkodie has expressed disappointment at himself for missing the late highlife legend, Nana Ampadu’s funeral.

On Saturday, October, 8, a state funeral was held in honour of the passing of the late Legend, who’s sad demise happened in September, 2021.

While many dignitaries including the President, H.E. Nana Akufo-Addo were present at the funeral, Sarkodie, who has had a working relationship with Nana Ampadu, failed to attend the funeral.

In a series of Twitter posts to express his regret, the rapper revealed that although he had been reminded by David Dontoh a week prior, he still missed it due to reasons beyond his control.

“Ashamed and hurt for not making it to the Legend Nana Ampadu’s funeral … Uncle David Dontoh told me about it last Sunday… Crazy how I had it on my mind from then and still missed it but all the same Rest In Peace Grandpa May the almighty keep you safe,” he tweeted.

He continued;

“No excuse makes sense to even myself missing all these legends funerals.. Need to do better.”

Sarkodie was fortunate enough to have had a beautiful relationship with the with the one and only Nana Ampadu before his sad demise. The two also worked on a song together.
