Sarkodie makes news with his verified twitter account

The news about BET Award winning Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie joining the list of verified celebrity accounts on Twitter has not only been hailed by his growing followership but it also made the headlines.  Several websites and radio stations in Ghana have reported on the development as Sarkodie joins a very limited list of Ghanaian celebrities with verified accounts. The multiple-award winning artiste, who is currently out of the country, shared the news with his fans on Twitter on Wednesday. He joins the likes of Emmanuel Frimpong of Arsenal and Black Stars player Andre Dede Ayew, whose accounts have been verified. The rapper who has over 83,744 followers tweeted that, “Yup Teamsarko we verified… Thumbs up.” His handle now carries the blue sign associated with accounts with verified users. In recent times, Twitter account verification has become a big deal for Nigerian celebrities and its catching up with Ghanaian celebrities as well. 2Face, D’Banj, Ice Prince, Asa, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde and Genevieve Nnaji are all reported to have had their accounts verified.]]>
