UK’s new gospel sensation, Aaron T. Aaron, recently flew into Ghana on a low profile visit and survey tour to attend to some family engagements and then interact with colleague ministry friends in Ghana. The Nigerian-born singer who is married to Annabel, of Ghanaian parentage, on arrival went straight into the Studios of Sunny FM for a radio interview with Christian radio icon, Kojo Oppong Adjei, on the ‘Inspirational Morning Drive’ slot.
According to Aaron, he has been intrigued by the enormous talents and anointed gospel musicians that Africa has been giving the world over the last few years and wanted a platform to partner other great African music ministers to take their reach all over the world. Therefore when the opportunity came for him to attend to a family engagement in Ghana, he decided it would be best to get into contact with colleagues in ministry so that they could explore avenues to promote African gospel music while maintaining a link between ministries abroad and in Africa.
Aaron T Aaron, is a talented worship leader, singer, songwriter who lives in Hatfield (England). Aaron has always had a passion for singing dating back to his childhood days. Born in Ibadan, Nigeria, to Christian parents who are also ministers of the gospel, Aaron served in his parents’ church as the choir’s Music Director. However, it was when he moved to London that his music broadened and since 2001 has served at the London Lighthouse Parish of House on the Rock Church as a worship leader with the Hill City Mass choir.
Though a holds a Bachelors Degree in Accounting and a Masters in Management, Aaron is now into full time ministry. He released his first EP in June 2010 entitled ‘Your Name Be Praised’. Following this, on October 30th 2010, Aaron released his debut album; a worship project entitled ‘Awesome God’ which has highly inspirational songs such as the single, ‘Your Name Be Praise’, ‘Awesome God’, ‘I Will Praise Your Name’ featuring Michael Abdul of Midnight Crew and the mind-blowing Testimony by his wife, Annabel. The release of the album was a live recording event which would be translated later into a DVD for the deluxe version of the album later this year or the next. The event was graced by UK gospel music heavy weights like Muyiwa and River Songs, Lurine Cato, Donna Akodu of the Kingdom Worship Movement, Femi Jacobs, Remi Odumesi and Spanish Artiste Roni Padilla.
Aaron T. Aaron is the Director of DOXAZO, a record label set up with a Christian ethos for Christian artists. “The label is a ministry that was birthed out of a heart that wants to serve the body of Christ. This label also operates in the area of worship through leading worship, writing songs for congregational worship and recording indigenous gospel hits. I believe that I have been called to praise God as the ‘T’ in my name suggests. It stands for ‘Tochukwu’ which means to Praise God in my native Ibo language. And my strength lies in the praise and worship of God,” Aaron revealed.
“I aspire to create music and lead worship across the globe with a rallying call for worshippers to come back to the place of worship. I believe that by being both a Nigerian with a Ghanaian and British link, I will be able to bridge cultural gaps with my fusion of Western and African influence to ensure that I can minister to people from all races and be a blessing to people all over the world.’ Aaron added.
Close sources reveal that Aaron is likely to comeback in a big fashion to have his ‘Awesome God’ launched in Ghana; collaborate with some Ghanaian gospel artistes and honour some concerts. He however attended the ‘Ketase Summit’, a gathering of number Ghanaian gospel artistes meeting to seek the face of the Lord and share ideas about the ministry, over the weekend.
