Ghana and the entire African continent has seen the emergence of several actors and actresses when it comes to movie making, but one enterprising major player in the movie industry who has defied all odds and is still making it big in the trade is Van Vicker.  Storming the movie industry some eight years ago, Van Vicker has claimed various prestigious awards adding to his long list of recognized achievements. Having won best actor in the ACRAG awards in 2008, Pan African creative actor in 2011,  Best African Caribbean actor in 2009, Best Actor African American in 2009 and nominated twice in the AMAA and Ghana movie awards (GMA) respectively, it is evident that Van Vicker is unstoppable and fans can only expect nothing but the best from the talented actor. Van Vicker has been nominated in this year’s much-anticipated 2012 edition of the Nollywood Academy Films Critics’ Awards (NAFCA) and the Nigerian Entertainment Awards (NEA), in the best male actor and achievement awards categories respectively. Speaking from one of his movie sets, he said, “ It is a great honor to be nominated for these awards. I am truly humbled. We are hoping for the best. I believe I have given my all in the work I have done so far and winning these awards will continue to commemorate my efforts.” While anticipating winning the awards; Van also has more to look forward to, as he has been working tirelessly on his forth coming movie premiere for his latest project under his Sky + Orange Productions titled ‘The Hands of Time’, which stars some of the well known faces in the industry such as Nadia Buari and Kofi Adjorlolo, amongst others. The premiere is billed to be a star-studded event, which will be held at the SilverBird cinemas on Friday August, 3.]]>
