We didn’t sanction the use of our music video – Fuse ODG hits at Ghana Tourism Authority

Ghanaian musician, Fuse ODG has broken his silence on the copyright infringement issue involving the Ghana Tourism Authority using visuals from music videos for a promotional advertisement without artists’ permission.

Excepts from Fuse ODG’s ‘New African Girl’ were featured in a promo advert created by the Ghana Tourism Authority and shared by President Akufo-Addo on social media.

Kirani Ayat was the first artist to raise alarm about the copyright issue after visuals from his ‘GUDA’ music video was also used in the promotional video.

However, Fuse ODG had kept quite about the issues until his released a statement to address the controversy.

In a statement signed by the Head Of Communications at his New Africa Nation label, the “AZONTO” hitmaker denied giving permission to the Ghana Tourism Authority to use his visuals and revealed his legal team is in discussions with the institution to resolve the issue.

He also called on the Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture to invest in more education around intellectual property for creatives in the arts and entertainment industry.
