Van Vicker clashes with Agya Koo in ‘Joni Waka’, premiering Dec 14

Star actor, Van Vicker continues to break new grounds as a director and producer. In his new production, ‘Joni Waka’, Van Vicker mixes the  feel of local language comedy with some canons of good quality production, that sees him meeting with funny actor, Agya Koo.  After winning a couple of awards as well as getting multiple nominations with ‘Joni Waka’, the actor is set to premiere the movie in Ghana, December 14.   Joni (Van Vicker) goes a village after making a discovery about the village. With some few dollar notes, an American swag and a hope to ‘invest’ in the village, he hatches up a plan to get what he wants but his unofficial guide Paa Nii (Agya Koo), “the village eye”, gets things complicated.  Meanwhile the innkeeper’s wife expresses her affection for Joni as do many of the village girls, who referred to him as the ‘American man’ or ‘dollar man’. But Joni seemed to only have his eyes on the princess of the village.   ‘Joni Waka’ is the fourth production from his Sky Orange Production and was shot in Kumasi. It is also in the running for 5 awards including Cinematography, Best Picture, Best Actor In A Lead Role (Van Vicker), Best Music – Original Score and Best Directing Local Language at the Ghana Movie Awards scheduled for December 25. The grand premiere is scheduled for Friday, December 14 at the Silverbird Cinema inside the Accra Mall. ]]>
