Watch: Melcom unveils new logo and rebrands to enhance retail shopping experience

Melcom, Ghana’s largest chain of retail department stores has rebranded and unveiled its new corporate logo.

On September 22, 2022, the management of Melcom Ghana and its partners hosted industry leaders and the media at an event at Melcom Plus in the North Industrial Area to unveil the new logo that will represent the brand throughout the country.

Mr. Rishi Melwani, Melcom’s group director, highlighted the company’s history and success over the years in his speech.

He said:

“At Melcom, we are constantly changing and evolving to be the very best. We do this by making continuous improvements to our products and services. We have reinvested massively to strengthen our backend infrastructure including a tech-driving centralized distribution facility, cold chain storage, and green energy. We directly touch the lives of over 4000 families and support a whole host of other businesses in various industries across the country.”

Ms. Sonya Sadhwani, executive director of Melcom Ghana, spoke to the media on the sidelines of the event about the motivation behind the brand’s new look and relaunch.

“Our new rejuvenated logo represents the colors, red, white, and blue. These colors speak to the brand Melcom. The new logo is part of the whole rejuvenation, reboot, and relaunch of our brand.  We got architects to come from abroad to help setup the feel and looks of our shops so when you go shopping its an experience.” she disclosed.

In his address as the event’s guest of honor, Dep. Minister for Trade and industry,  Herbert Krapa congratulated the Melcom Group and commended them for the employment and business opportunities it provides to Ghanaians and the economy.

Activities planned for the company’s rebranding include live in-shop cooking (Gastronomy) at Melcom shops, cafes, restaurants, new retail shops, and the yet-to-be-opened MELCOM MALL in Spintex.
