Aiming for a Grammy win is stupidity- Yaa Pono
While the fight to see who brings home Ghana’s first Grammy win heightens, rapper, Yaa Pono thinks its “stupidity.”
According to Yaa Pono, Ghanaian artists who are fixated on bringing home a Grammy are thinking in a stupid manner.
In a tweet Saturday, April 29th, he wrote in a mixture of English and the Twi dialect;

“Grammy aimers, nkwasia thinking nkoaa,” to wit, “Grammy aimers, stupid thinking only.”

Over the last few years, the fight to see who will bring home Ghana’s first Grammy win has been a huge debate on social media.
While some artists including Rocky Dawuni have made an attempt at the Grammy stage with multiple nominations year after year, Ghanaians are still patiently waiting for the big win.
Meanwhile, Stonebwoy’s “5th Dimension” album, which was released a couple of days ago is set to be a Grammy contender.
