With their tremendous successes in events in the UK and Ghana, Alordia Promotions, Westcoast and DJ Abrantee have teamed up in association with Choice FM (UK) to bring Ghanaians living in the UK lots of fun and surprises in this year’s Independence celebrations. For the first time in the UK, the annual celebration will be taking place at the O2 Indigo, home to some of the biggest mainstream events such as the Brit Awards and the National Television awards.
DJ Abrantee of Choice FM (UK) and Comedian Eddie Kadi will host the event and it is poised to be the best yet. Abrantee comments, “This year’s event is going to be wicked. We have a superstar line up, superstar venue and the only Official Ghana independence celebration that will be an absolute roadblock that you certainly don’t want to miss. We are not drastically making any changes, just making it bigger and better”.
Performers include Sunderland striker Asamoah Gyan aka Baby Jet who will be showing love to all the African girls with his track African Girls. Gyan will be performing alongside Hiplife heavyweight Castro who recently released his fourth album “Back to Sender”. When asked why he decided to feature a footballer on his album, Castro said ” Asamoah Gyan was into music before he began playing football professionally. I didn’t feature him because he is a household name in football but because I knew he is talented and he would deliver, which he has”
Other performers include 5Five, Iwan and a cultural performance by Tesaa cultural troupe. So Ghanaians in the UK should get their Kente outfits ready to herald Ghana’s 54th Independence Anniversary in style at the IndigoO2 on March 5. Tickets are now on sale @ www.ticketmaster.co.uk
