As a sportswoman or athlete, you must maintain high personal standards, including proper breast health. Breasts do not have muscles that make them toned up or well-defined, and there is a high possibility of the breast tissues being loose due to wear and tear. A sports bra will be a wonderful support to your breasts for physically active women and prevent them from sagging. Different sports bras are designed for different activity levels ranging from high-impact running to low-impact yoga. There are various different types of sports bras such as:

Compression Sports Bras

This type of bra is usually of a pullover style and does not have any in-built cups. These bras are customized and best suited for low to medium-impact activities. They are not best for D cups. Women with large breasts tend to form a uni-boob when they wear this bra. The breasts also usually spill out due to the volume. The compression bras tend to compress and hold your breast in one place. This kind of bra treats your breasts as a single unit. Compression sports bras do not have wires.

Encapsulation Sports Bras

These bras are meant for high-intensity workouts. They are specially designed with inbuilt cups. The bras offer separate cups for each boo to help carry out high-performing activities such as running, and there will be minimal breast movement. The sports bra cups can be heavily padded or generally light. Moreover, encapsulation sports bras sometimes come with underwires too. These encapsulation sports bras make it easy to finish your target fitness goal without your breasts bouncing too much.

Compression and Encapsulation

This kind of bra for sports offers the effect of both encapsulation and compression. The bras contain encapsulated cups for holding each breast separately. It also has compressors made of spacer and mesh fabrics that hold your boobs in one place. Therefore, the bras will offer your boobs individual cups and squeeze your breasts together, giving them a fuller look. This variety of bras is ideal for women with all sizes of breasts, especially those with DD+ cup sizes. Moreover, these sports bras have underwires that will offer your breasts structure and support.

Criss-Cross Back

The style of this sports bra back is usually made at the back to have straps of crisscross. The crisscross back offers firmer support. These sports bras look wonderful when paired with neck tents that are deep back. Crisscross back sports bras are smart and make an excellent fashion statement.

Racerback

It is the most common style among sports bras. Racerback bras have straps that create a Y-shape by the shoulder straps at the shoulder blades. These bras offer great support for high-intensity workouts.

Pullover

These sports bras are popular with teenagers. They are simply tank tops with an elastic bottom lining that ends just below the breasts. They are best suited for low-impact activities like stretching or yoga. This is because pullover sports bras are not very supportive. It is advisable for women with large breasts to avoid wearing them.

Back Clasp

These sports bras look like everyday bras. They have adjustable straps and hooks on their backs. The bras of sport come with underwired options and are padded.

Sports bras can also be categorized based on the activity or impact level:

You should not wear the same sports bra when cycling, running, or doing yoga. Depending on your level of activity, sports bras have three different impact level categories. They include:

1.     Low Impact

These sports bras are worn for activities that have minimum bust movement and bouncing. It is worn for activities like yoga, Pilates, and walking. Most low-impact sports bras do not have separate cups.

2.    Medium Impact

These bras are worn while participating in activities that have moderate bust movements, such as Zumba, brisk walking, cycling, and hiking. They offer better support and hold than low-impact bras. The medium-impact sports bra may have cups or fail to have them.

3.    High Impact

This type of bra is worn while taking part in activities that are bound to prompt full breast movement and can have an excessive bounce. The physical activities include running, dancing, cross-fit training, and kickboxing. These sports bras offer the best level of support and hold your bust in place.
