Get Familiar: Wayo, son of famous Ghanaian politician talks real!

They say the apple often doesnā€™t fall far from the tree and although music is often far apart with politics, Ghanaian rapper Wayo can draw some comparison with his politician father, Kofi Wayo based on the direction of his music as can be seen via his latest single, ā€˜Real Talkā€™. The single is a candid take on life, the reality of friendship and the fight to survive. ā€˜Real Talkā€™ features singer, Q with production work by Ghanaian producer, Ceedi. ā€˜Real Talkā€™ brings to light the haters in our lives who wish nothing good for us than failure and disgrace. The simple and straight forward music video was directed by Stanley Adjetey of Take 2 Films and sees Wayo spitting his words of wisdom with conviction. Wayo is touted by some Ghanaian rap connoisseurs as the next big star to put Ghanaian music on the world music map. From the stables of the Ghanaian – American Goodfellas Records, the multi-talented rapper and lyricist has been described by many as one of the new generation emcee that Africa has been waiting for. Although Wayo may come across as laid back with an unusual reserved persona for a hiphop rapper, he is a reservoir of versatility, filled with enviable creativity and energy. Born Emmanuel Wayo, he has been on and off the music radar, while practicing the art and learning the rudiments of the trade. With dedication and hard work, Wayo has become a very knowledgeable in the art, craft and business of music. After several performances in his high school days, he became explored Hip Hop further, which saw him collaborating with the likes of JaySo, Scientific and a host of others. He has been part of several groups and today finds himself as a solo act with a promising future in music. He currently promoting two singlesā€™ namely ā€˜Real Talkā€™ and ā€˜Glowā€™. ā€˜Glowā€™ is Wayoā€™s second single which features D-Black and chronicles the situation of a guy who dreams to date a particular girl. The song preaches the principle of commitment and the desire to pursue whatever you desire until you get it. According to the rapper, he is here to stay and change the game with his music which he describes as world music. ā€œI make music for the world.
