Ghana wins 5 nods at maiden Afrofinns Achievement Awards Ghana wins 5 nods at maiden Afrofinns Achievement Awards[/caption] Ghana over the weekend won five awards at the first ever Afrofinns Achievement Awards held in Helsinki, Finland last Saturday 24thNovember, 2018. Out of 16 categories, five Ghanaians who were nominated for five different categories emerged victors. Mr. Lukumanu Iddrisu won the award for Academic Achievement category; Isaac Kumah for the Business/Project award; Blaqboy Jnr (Alfred Tetteh Coffie) picked the award for Afro Inspired Music; Nana TV (Nana Adjoa Boateng) grabbed the Media award whilst Nurudeen Adedorja walked away with the Sports Personality of the Year award. The Afrofinns Achievement Awards seeks to recognize and honor Africans living in Finland who are making impacts positively to contribute to their societies and to create a better image of the African community against misconception and discrimination in all walks of life. The ceremony is organized by Afrofinns Ry and Think Africa who are proponents of championing African empowerment in the country. Mr. Elvis Fuamba (Chairman of Afrofinns Ry) in his welcome address emphasized that the ceremony is organized to acknowledge the achievements of the Afro-community as well as to use it as a platform to network and connect for African prosperity. The event had in attendance the ambassadors of Namibia and South Africa and other Finnish dignitaries. Full list of winners below; Academic Achievement
