B.E.T award-winning Ghanaian music sensation, Mohammed Ismail Sherif, professionally known as Black Sherif, has disclosed he continues to indulge in the thrifting culture, sourcing his fashion items from the popular second-hand clothing market known as “Kanta.”

Despite achieving fame and success in the Ghanaian music industry, the ‘Oh No’ hitmaker remains grounded in his preferences, shedding light on the enduring charm and appeal of thrifting.

Kantamanto is the hub for thrift items (foose) in Accra, Ghana, mainly attributed to the less privileged. However, according to Blacko, a celebrity who can afford big brands, Kantamanto is the hub where he finds items that fit his unique style.

The crooner, who appeared as a guest on Nana Ama McBrown’s Onua Showtime on Sunday, November 12, 2023  revealed that he has a team of local male vendors in the popular market who get him the clothes and fabrics to fit his unique style. His favorite items from Kanta are his usual oversized jeans and vintage jerseys which he said compliments his Konongo-zongo lifestyle.
