Ghanaian actor, and staunch supporter of the ruling National Patriotic Party (NPP), Prince David Osei, has stated that based on his experience supporting Lydia Alhassan, the incumbent Member of Parliament for the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency, he’s bound to throw his support behind his colleague, John Dumelo come December, 2024.

According to Prince David Osei, he’s disappointed in Maa Lydia for not paying attention to the people who supported and voted her into power.

Speaking on GHOne TV’s “GH Today” show, Prince explained that he faced a lot of criticism when he and some other colleagues who are members of the NPP, decided to campaign for Maa Lydia to win the Ayawaso seat, although their colleague and friend John Dumelo was vying for the same seat on the ticket of the opposition NDC.

Prince states that his experience with Maa Lydia and her team after she won the election has given him a change of heart and he intends to fully throw his support to John Dumelo to win the seat come December, 2024.

“Personally, it will not be shocking if you see me on a platform campaigning for John to win the Ayawaso seat even though he’s NDC and I’m NPP. Because I feel like when people go all out for you, you don’t take them for granted. We stood on that platform, got a lot of insults because of Maa Lydia,” he stated.

He continued; “at a point I sent messages to her P.A that some of the Legon students are going through a lot I’ve been trying to support but you’re their MP so hear them out, they never replied and nothing happened. So, personally, I felt like if we’re the same people that went there, got all the insults and humiliation all because they said we stood against our friend, then if John has gotten the nod again, we will support him because he’s one of us.”

Asked if he’s disappointed in Maa Lydia, he reiterated;

“Personally, i feel she should have done more, especially the people that stood with you, so when we talk, you should listen but it looks like she lives in her own world so we have decided to stop.”
