M.anifest thrills crowd at Manifestivities 2012

Ghanaian hip hop act, M.anifest cemented his reputation as a class act with a spectacular performance at Alliance Francaise over the weekend. The show, dubbed M.anifestivities 2012 was to show appreciation to his ever-growing following of fans while staking a claim to being one of the best live performers in the country. The night started off with an enthralling performance by Wulomei, who got the crowd off their feet with some traditional Ghanaian song and dance. Resplendent in their all white garb, they sang and danced, throwing in azonto moves at one point. Looking sultry and sexy as usual, diva Efya took to the stage in the second act of the night. Once her voice touched the microphones, the crowd especially the female section was transported to a blissfully soulful and emotional place. M dɔdɔdɔ ti dɔ, as he is affectionately called crowned the night with an energetic set. He went through some of his more popular songs off his album ‘Immigrant Chronicles: Coming to America’ like ‘Suffer’, ‘Blue’ and Asa which he performed with Efya. The crowd was wild.  Beautiful UK artist Sian Thomas brought her own jazzy vibe and feel to ‘Blue’. She then launched into her own number further introducing herself to the Ghanaian public. She is one to watch over the next year. But that wasn’t it. EL made an appearance literally coming straight to the stage from Kotoka International Airport. The man who must be the tallest rapper in Africa had just landed after performing at Industry Night in Lagos. If he was sapped by his seven-hour traveling ordeal, he didn’t show it. ‘Hallelujah’ his latest track featuring M.anifest got people off their feet as though they were filling the pews on a Sunday. M.anifest and Lyrical Wanzam, two Madina  based musicians putting the area on the African musical map performed ‘For Sheygey Reasons’. Needless to say, the Madina massive in the house ate it up. M.anifest ended the night by saying thanks without apology. His band absolutely made justice to his successful ‘makaa maka’ tune which won him a 4syte TV award as well as a nomination at the just held Channel O Music Video Awards.
