MTN Ghana Launches 2024 SME Month

MTN Ghana has launched its 2024 Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) Month, with the goal of equipping SMEs with crucial digital resources and nurturing their development within the economy.

During the launch of the SME Month on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA),  Abubakari Sidick Mohammed, Head of SMEs at MTN Business, stressed MTN’s dedication to assisting SMEs by providing solutions that improve their efficiency and competitiveness.

He pointed out MTN’s substantial investment in Ghana’s SME ecosystem, emphasizing its contribution to economic development.

Themed “Business stands smarter, faster, and better,” the SME Month, which runs throughout July, celebrates SME contributions to Ghana’s economy. It focuses on equipping SMEs with digital solutions to drive growth and enhance operational capabilities through skills development.

Planned activities include engaging SMEs in Accra and Kumasi, organizing trade shows, showing appreciation to customers, and conducting educational sessions about MTN’s business solutions. The initiative will conclude with SME fairs in both cities.

Tsonam Akpeloo, Chairman of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) in Greater Accra, commended MTN’s initiative, highlighting its ability to equip SMEs with essential digital tools needed for expansion and adherence to trade agreements.

MTN’s SME Month underscores its strategic support for Ghana’s SME sector in fostering economic resilience and digital transformation.
