Ghanaian rapper, Okyeame Kwame, has found himself in a home where his partner and kids do not celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, popularly known as Christmas, and although that may seem weird to a lot of people, the sensational rapper is not bothered at all.

Okyeame Kwame, who is happily married to Anicca, a Jehovah’s Witness, stated during an interview with Berla Mundi on TV3 that he respects his family’s beliefs and appreciates the diversity of their faith, hence he’s not bothered that they do not celebrate the same holidays/festivals.

“My family, my wife, my children, they are complete individuals. Independent of what I like and what I don’t like. So the beauty of that is that the diversity or the unity in that diversity where we all let each other be. So you celebrate this one. Go ahead and do it. It’s not about forcing people to like what you like. After all, the fewer the merrier,” he said.

The “Made in Ghana” rapper further added that he does not appreciate Christmas the same way others do. While a lot of Christians celebrate the “birth of Christ,” Okyeame Kwame says he focuses on the “life of Christ.”

“Plus, celebrating Christmas or not is not consequential. It has nothing to do about anything. It’s not about the death or the birth for me, it’s more about the life, it’s more about the forgiveness, it’s more about the service, it’s more about the kindness. It’s more about doing for regular people so that you have done it done for Christ. It’s all about enlightenment, about being kind. I look at the life of Christ, the quality of life. Can I be Christlike? That is where my focus is,” he added.
