Legendary Reggae/Dancehall musician, Samini is not impressed with the Black Stars’ song for the FIFA 2022 World Cup.

In the days leading to the World Cup, The Kentos Music Band released “Osey” as a song for the Black Stars at a launch event attended by several former players of the Ghana Black Stars. The Ghana Football Association (GFA) in collaboration with award-winning singer, King Promise, also unveiled the official Black Stars song ahead of the World Cup on November, 15.

Samini in a tweet revealed his disappointment with the new song for the Ghana Black Stars although he didn’t clearly state which song he was referring.

He wrote: “The new black starts song though, do we have to learn it before the world cup ? whoever chose it probably wrote it too. Eiiiii track na 3y3 ya saaa no! Hmmm a few of us could have done a better job at that Chale anaa meeb)dam lol. but vim still for the boys. Go Ghana,” Samini tweeted.

After Samini was tagged “jealous” for not been chosen to do the official soundtrack, he wrote another tweet to remind those opposing his views that he has performed at World Cup stages, hence will not be jealous over someone who is just entering that space.

“I did Germany 2006, performed the official song at the closing ceremony at SA 2010. 2014 was yawa and 2018 we no fit go. Been there done that 4get hype. The morale of my statement beyond politics, typos and grammatical errors remains the fact that the track is wack in my opinion,” he added.
