‘Single & Married’ tops 2012 Ghana Movie Awards nominations

Ghana Movie AwardsThe 2012 Ghana Movie Awards has  announced nominations for the 3rd edition of the awards.  This year’s nominations is the first time that Leila Djansi and Shirley Frimpong Manso, who have dominated the awards since its inception, would not be competing. ‘Single & Married’, which was produced by actress, Yvonne Nelson topped the list with 10 nominations. Following closely is ‘Grooms Bride’ with 8 nominations and ‘Hotel Babylon’ with 6. ‘Queen Latifa’, ‘Secret Burden’ and ‘Wanna Be’ got 4 nominations each. In the running for ‘Best Actress in a lead role’ are Nana Akua Addo, Yvonne Nelson, Martha Ankomah, Jackie Appiah, Yvonne Okoro and Nadia Buari.  The male lead is keenly contested by Van Vicker ,John Dumelo, Prince David Osei, Kofi Adjorlolo and Ekow Blankson.  The Best Picture nod will be contested by Joni Waka , Grooms Bride , Single & Married, Trap In The Game , Ghana Police, Hotel Babylon, Secret WBurden  and Wanna Be. Winners will be announced on Sunday December 2 at the Accra International Conference Centre.
