Funny Face

Ghana’s popular comedian and actor, Funny Face has shared an important message with Ghanaians, urging them to open up and share their emotions when going through tough times. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5E-W4MTm9h4&t=5s

The comedian, who has had his fair share of personal struggles and public challenges, emphasized the importance of seeking help and support rather than bottling up one’s emotions.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with TV3’s  Giovani Caleb on Showbiz 360, Funny Face, who is privately known as Benson Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng detailed that bottling up one’s emotion when facing difficulties or going through life challenges does more harm than good, adding that it only takes people to their graves. He further encouraged people to lean on their support networks, be it friends, family, or professionals, when they are dealing with difficulties in their lives.

Funny Face’s own journey through personal challenges and mental health issues has been quite public, and he used his experiences to raise awareness about the importance of mental health and self-care. By sharing his story and advocating for open conversations, he has helped reduce the stigma associated with mental health concerns in Ghana.

”Do you know what people are going through and they can not voice out? That is what is killing people. When you go through anything, talk to somebody. When you are going through things you don’t understand, talk to somebody. It happened to me and did not open up to anyone. I kept bottling everything up until  things became worse some 3 years ago. Assuming I opened up to someone, I would have  been helped”  Funny said.
