IMG 0939In November 2010, renowned  Ghanaian film writer, producer and director Kwaw Ansah  returned onto the movie scene  with the thought provoking, ‘The love of AA’, the first instalment  in a series of 24 films under the umbrella title ‘The Good old Days’.   Just some few months after showing the first film in all 10 regions of Ghana, Kwaw Ansah is back with the second, ‘The Good Old Days: Papa Lasisi Good Bicycle’.

Just like the maiden one, this episode depicts our society in the pre and post independence era, revolving around the core family of Joe E. Mensah (Albert Jackson Davies). The main character, Papa Lasisi (Psalm Adjetefio) is a shrewd Abeokuta born business man based in Sekondi.  It is when the daring children of Mr. Mensah attempt to outwit Papa Lasisi after hiring some of his bicycles that the fullness of Papa Lasisi’s shrewdness comes to bare. It is in his dealings with the three Mensah boys, and the boys trying to trick their parents that the ultimate core of the film is brought to the fore.

Shot on various locations in Bukom, La, Adabraka and Legon , viewers will get to enjoy the humour and excitement as Papa Lasisi’s antics come alive at the premiere scheduled for Easter Saturday, April 2011 23, 6pm at the National Theatre.
