Just about any subject can make it to the top trends on popular social media app, Twitter.

However, today’s top trends on Ghana Twitter is mind boggling, as Ghana’s favourite sausage brand, “Sadia” has made it to the number one spot for the most bizarre reason.

Earlier on today a Twitter account in the name of former Tein Vice President at the University for Professional Studies, Ms Amira Naa Adei complained about the hike in prices of good and services in the country. 

“Sadia sausage 6gh to 30gh . Crate of egg 27gh to 52 today . Yazz sanitary pad 7gh to 30gh What kind of joke is this?” She Tweeted:

Couple of hours after, the tweet blew up, as it was revealed by some Twitter followers that Ms Adei had blown out of proportion the prices of some of the items she listed.

Checks on Sadia Sausage was revealed to have gone from 6 cedis to 18 cedis, and not 30 cedis as she had stated.

Twitter users have since called Ms Adei a “liar” and accused of causing propaganda with her tweet.
